The last SP "Coast Daylight" Train #98 leaves Palo Alto on its way to Los Angeles on the eve of Amtrak.
A southbound Caltrain commuter train has just left Redwood City and is a minute out of its station stop at Palo Alto on the run to San Jose.

A Sunday afternoon consist passes thru Palo Alto, slightly overpowered. The large tree next to the track is El Palo Alto, the tree reputed to be the source of the city's name.
Caltrain # 164 passes over the San Francisquito Creek Bridge which was built in 1902 as a northbound train approaches in the opposite direction.
